Blake Tuke

Originally from Auckland, Blake trained at Victoria Phillips Academy in a range of dance styles. During his time at the Academy Blake achieved his Advanced and Solo Seal levels in Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet and Contemporary.

Blake moved to Sydney to pursue his dancing, studying full-time at Brent Street Studios where he gained the Diploma of Performing Arts (Elite Dance). Jennifer Peers (Voice Studio) trained him in vocals.

Since graduating, Blake has performed in a myriad of different roles with various companies in Australia and overseas. Blake was cast in the international tour of ‘West Side Story’, produced by Opera Australia and GWB Entertainment as one of only two New Zealanders. Blake played the roles of ‘Big Deal’, ‘Riff’ and ‘Action’.

Blake was part of the production of Mary Poppins as a Swing and "Bert" alternate produced by G&T Productions and Amici Trust.

Blake's theatre credits also include: “Oh What A Night” Premier Gala Concert; and “The Voice Australia”

Blake has directed, choreographed and demonstrated work for Junior Theatre Festival New Zealand (JTFNZ) and the Asia Pacific Dance Association in the United States, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.

Blake is currently a freelance performer whilst continuing to teach and choreograph in Sydney. BWA is delighted to have such an energetic and versatile individual working with us to inspire dancers online and in our regional workshops this year! Blake’s passion for performance, particularly in musical theatre, is ever present in his teaching and a true asset to everyone he teaches!
