Cassie Woodward

Cassie began her dance training in Sydney at the age of 9 and is trained in Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, Musical Theatre, Tap, Hip Hop, and Acrobatics.

Throughout her high school education Cassie was a member of the NSW Public School’s State Dance Company where she represented the company as a featured dancer at numerous regional and state dance festivals in Australia. During this time, Cassie also toured the United States, training at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and The Merce Cunningham Studio in New York, New World School of the Arts in Miami, and Alonzo King Lines Dance Center in San Francisco.

Upon completing her Higher School Certificate, Cassie was presented with the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Dance’ award, received 3 nominations for Callback, and performed as a highlighted artist in the School’s Spectacular on national television. 

Cassie went on to be accepted into the Victorian College of the Arts (University of Melbourne) where she studied a Bachelor of Dance Degree. Here she trained in Contemporary, Ballet, Duo, Improvisation and Choreography under Phillip Adams, Antony Hamilton, Stephen Heathcote (The Australian Ballet), and worked with choreographers including Becky Hilton, Sandra Parker, and Frances Rings (Bangarra Dance Theatre). 

Since graduating, Cassie has presented work for Nokia, Vivid Sydney, Nikon, Myer, FBI SMACs Festival, YouTube Brandcast, Vanessa Amorosi, and Time Out Magazine. Cassie also works with entertainment company Entertainment Works Australia with which she regularly performs and tours in their production shows for corporate and private events around the state, and recently internationally, on MSC’s world cruise, ‘The Magnifica’.

Cassie is also a part of collaborative duo act called Fluxx. They have choreographed and performed for numerous music videos, including international producer Mat Zo. Other credits include Alaska Projects, Sydney Fringe Festival, Artmonth, Secret Garden Festival, and Vice.

Over the last 5 years Cassie has taught at various schools and programs across NSW, giving her experience in teaching students of varying abilities, ages and diversities. As a teacher, Cassie is committed to building supportive relationships with students whilst creating a positive learning environment that enables them to achieve their goals and express themselves. Cassie believes that dance is for everyone, and the studio should be a place to create, grow, and develop passion for not only dance but also life!
