Natalie Debono
Born in Sydney Natalie began dancing at a young age and progressed to fulltime training at Ecole Ballet Studios at the age of 16. Natalie moved to the USA to take up a position as a trainee in North Carolina before accepting a position as a company member of Singapore Dance Theatre. Whilst dancing with Singapore Dance Theatre Natalie performed work in the classical repertoire such as Giselle, The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty as well as modern works by illustrious choreographers including George Balanchine.
Natalie then moved on to Ballet Cymru in Wales, the UK where she was chosen to perform in many roles across a broader spectrum of dance styles including Neo-classical works, Aerial Hoop and Silks.
Alongside her performance roles Natalie was actively involved in teaching summer intensives during her time with Ballet Cymru, which gave her great pleasure.
As well as her international dancing experience Natalie has had the opportunity to work with several highly esteemed Australian based choreographers including Marc Brew, Tim Podesta, Eva Fernandez and Paulina Quinteros. A highlight of her dancing on home soil came in 2016 as a contemporary dancer in “La Choregraphia” which won first place at Sydney Festival. Natalie is presently a touring member of the Masters of Choreography Company and is performing in their current show “Beats On Pointe.” Natalie still manages to find time to teach and share her skills, knowledge and experience with young dancers as well as adult ballet students who all gain a great deal from her coaching and classes. Natalie will perform with Opera Australia, touring in their 2019/2020 production of Faust, commencing in November.
