Regional Performance Groups
Inspired by the ongoing passion and enthusiasm of dancers in regional areas, in 2025 BWA is creating regional performance groups that will be given the opportunity to work with professional choreographers and perform at events such as Sydney Eisteddfod.
In order to make the groups accessible to everyone, the choreography will be set and filmed for participants to learn at their own pace, with the assistance of their local studio teachers. Prior to Sydney Eisteddfod in early July, participants will be required to attend an exciting intensive period of live studio work in Sydney leading up to the premier performance at the Eisteddfod. Throughout this process the dancers will have the opportunity to work with professional choreographers, wonderful teachers and to meet like-minded dancers from different regional towns.
As much as we would love to include everyone, the nature of the group will mean limited numbers and therefore we will be conducting auditions. The audition process will be via Zoom with dates to be confirmed. There will be a senior classical group, a senior contemporary group, and a junior contemporary group. One of the groups will feature an original musical composition by Australian composer Datu Begley.

When: Sydney rehearsals 2nd-4th July, Sydney Eisteddfod 5th-6th July
Cost: There will be a small fee to cover studio hire for in person rehearsals, costumes and contribution towards teacher and choreographer expenses.
Ages: junior (10-13years), senior (14-18years)
Dance styles: classical, contemporary
